A beautiful work space. A space that works beautifully.

Having custom built our new studio we’re hoping this is the last move for a while.

By Brad

Hoisted atop Paul’s shoulders and peering into the cavity created by the circa 1980s false ceiling - I knew we’d found it. Bent, twisted, charred and just over one hundred years old, she was a perfectly flawed framework to creating a bespoke studio environment.

To compliment the purchase, a lifetime wondering whether I should have pursued building as my profession became the logical catalyst to nominating myself the challenge to design and renovate the space… and so, three months of blistered hands and early starts began. You know, I wouldn’t swap it for anything.

Technology, creativity, functionality and funk all topped the list when exploring the wants and needs of the team; a great bunch of brains who, being technology focussed and creatively driven were pretty specific in what would - and for that matter what wouldn’t - make for an environment that really hums.

SCT Studio

A mountain of magazine pages became the vision. A mountain of sketches became my version of a floorplan. Time now to call in our talented friends and neighbours ITN Architects to provide the expertise and knowledge to spin this space into something real and provide the necessary detail required custom fit the benches, storage and screening. Space to expand, space to think and space to move… we decided on massive black-slab desks to provide personalisation, flexibility for growth and the necessary privacy to encourage productivity.
